Full terms & conditions for Steph's Bakes are detailed below. By making an initial payment it will be deemed that the terms are understood and accepted as applying to your order.

Non-refundable deposit

For cakes a 50% non-refundable deposit will be required to confirm your booking. Only once the deposit is received will your specified date be reserved. The remaining 50% is required 7 days before your cake is collected. Payment of the deposit is taken as your acceptance of these Terms and conditions. Cakes that are ordered less than a week before they are required need to be paid in full when booking. All traybakes must be paid for in full when ordering.

 

Payments

The preferred method of payment is by bank transfer, however payment by cash is also accepted. No orders will be released by Steph's Bakes until full payment is received.

Cancellations

By yourself: In the unfortunate event that you have to cancel your order, please note that your deposit is non-refundable as other bookings may have been refused to allow us to bake for you. However, one transfer to another date may be considered if available.

By Steph's Bakes: We retain the right to cancel any orders due to circumstances beyond our control. As much notice as possible will be given and a full refund issued.

Design and alterations

Your cake will be created as specified in your order form. Please be sure that all of these details are accurate and as agreed before making your deposit payment.

We will do our very best to create your selected design as closely as possible. However, at times, the cake designer may make slight adjustments to the design in the interest of structure stability or aesthetics, and will do so without changing the design immensely. Any cake ordered from a picture or photo of a cake produced by any other cake maker, can only be reproduced as our interpretation of that cake and will not be an exact reproduction of the cake in the picture or photo.

If amendments are requested, they should be made in writing and as soon as possible. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate your wishes, please note that changes cannot always be guaranteed. If the alteration affects the cost, or preparation work for the original design has already been undertaken, then your balance will be adjusted accordingly. Please warn us when you pay your deposit if you are undecided on the design.

Collection

Cakes are for collection only from Steph's Bakes (Golcar, Huddersfield). Local delivery may be considered in certain circumstances at the discretion of Steph's Bakes.

Please be sure to schedule your collection time accurately. If you feel that you are going to be later than planned, please contact us as soon as possible. Failure to pick up your order the same day or contact us will result in your cake being sold off or raffled to another customer.

On collection of your cake you will be asked if you are happy with your product.

 

By taking your cake from our premises, you confirm you are happy with its condition and final overall presentation. Steph's Bakes are not liable for damage due to client handling once the cake has been collected.

Postal bakes

Deposits do not apply for postal bakes and payments must be made in full before orders are baked and posted. Delivery times will be discussed and agreed upon enquiry. Bakes will be posted via Royal Mail First Class. Steph’s Bakes are not liable for any delays incurred by Royal Mail.

Allergies

All products are made in an environment where the following allergens may be present: celery, cereals containing gluten (such as barley and oats), crustaceans (such as prawns, crabs and lobsters), eggs, fish, lupin, milk, molluscs (such as mussels and oysters), mustard, peanuts, sesame, soybeans, sulphur dioxide and sulphites. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that any orders are free from any allergens.

Clients are responsible for notifying of any other dietary restrictions prior to placing an order. We take no responsibility for allergies or complications due to consuming our products. You agree to notify your guests of this risk.

​

Non-edible items

Many cakes contain food safe non-edible items which may include (but are not limited to) dowels, florist wire, ribbons, straws etc. You will be advised of the placement of such items, however it is your responsibility to ensure that your venue / caterer / guests are aware that these items should be removed prior to consumption.

Refunds

All sales are final. In the unlikely event that you are dissatisfied with your cake, Steph's Bakes must be informed within 24 hours of cake collection or delivery in order that any compensation may be assessed. For a refund to be considered, more than 75% of the cake must be returned to us. No refunds will be given for a change of mind.

​

Social media/website

Steph's Bakes reserves the right to use photographs of cakes made by them for advertising purposes, marketing and promotion of the business. This will include Social Media for example Facebook and Instagram. We will however not publish pictures until after the date of your celebration so that we do not spoil your big reveal.
